Announcement of The Guidance Group's plan to close in Fall 2023

Dear Current and Previous Clients (and parents/guardians):
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that after providing mental health therapy services to our region since 2014, The Guidance Group, Inc., has reached a point where we must close our doors. Unfortunately, several overlapping factors including the COVID-19 pandemic and its many effects; my personal illness, leave and recovery; and a changing therapy landscape (a shift toward the majority of care being sought via telehealth) have presented The Guidance Group with financial challenges which we have been unable to successfully overcome. In order to allow for a gradual and planful transition of care for our clients, we have chosen to take the step of giving notice at this time that The Guidance Group will be closing this fall.
We have started the process of transitioning our staff to other practice/employment situations, and we are planning to support you as our clients at each step during this transition period. Our clinicians have begun reaching out to you individually to begin planning for a smooth transition of care based on your needs, and more information will be available from your clinician as we move forward.
As we move forward with the transition this fall, there will likely be changes to the availability of in-office sessions. We will be updating this page as in-office availability changes. We expect no interruption to Telehealth session availability.
The clinic’s last date of active business operations will be November 30, 2023. After this date, the administration will continue attending to business matters related to closing, including continuing to process insurance and client billing. We will be available to continue receiving payments after November 30, 2023. If you will have a remaining balance at that time, we will work with you to develop a payment plan. Upon closing, our webpage www.theguidance.group and our main phone number 218-576-5757 will be maintained. The website will contain contact information for any records requests or other matters that may arise in the future.

I would also like to thank all of The Guidance Group staff who have been an integral part of our mission.
