Genesis Roman-Alday, BSW

Student Clinical Interngenesis

Hi there! I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) in the spring of 2021 with a bachelor's degree in social work. I am a social work graduate student at UMD and will be graduating in May 2023. I also plan on going after my LICSW licensure after graduation.

I have experience working in afterschool programming with children and adolescents ages 6 to 18.  I have run educational and recreational group activities centered on creating a sense of belonging, reducing unhealthy behaviors, and providing learning opportunities for young people. I believe young people can heal when they are heard and validated. I have a passion for working with children and adolescents though I am open and able to work with all age groups.

I believe in creating a space that feels comfortable, safe, open, and supportive for everyone I see. Cognitive, person-centered, and strength-based therapy approaches are the most common methods I use in my practice. I'm passionate about growth, making positive changes, and improving day-to-day life.

I love reading, baking, figure skating, and spending time with friends during my free time.

Genesis sees clients at our Duluth office and via Telehealth.
